Elon musk about threads app

Last Wednesday, Meta, the company behind Facebook, unveiled its new rival to Twitter called Threads. Surprisingly, this announcement came just three months after Meta initially revealed its intentions to create the app.

Threads has enjoyed a remarkable beginning, with over 100 million people signing up in less than a week. Among the users are numerous well-known brands, celebrities, journalists, and other influential individuals who have joined the platform.

What is Threads?

Threads is a fresh application introduced by Meta, the parent company of popular platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. It bears a resemblance to Twitter, featuring a feed primarily filled with text-based posts. However, users also have the option to share photos and videos. The app enables real-time conversations, allowing people to engage with one another.

Meta has set a 500-character limit for messages posted on Threads, mirroring Twitter’s concise format. Users can reply to, repost, and quote posts from other users, just like on Twitter. Additionally, Threads incorporates elements from Instagram’s familiar look and navigation system, providing a seamless experience. Furthermore, the app allows users to easily share their Threads posts directly to Instagram Stories.

What actually Elon Musk says:

Elon Musk, who owns Twitter, commented on Meta’s new Threads app, comparing it to Instagram but without “thirst pics.” This comment from Musk came as Threads gained attention as a potential competitor to Twitter.

However, there have been legal disputes between Twitter and Meta,
with Musk’s lawyer accusing Meta of using confidential Twitter information and former Twitter employees in the creation of Threads.

Elon Musk’s recent tweet suggests that Threads may not be as enticing as Instagram since it lacks images. The head of Instagram has recognized the current limitations of Threads and has assured users that more features will be added in the future.

Conclusion

Despite it had a great launch, Threads remains basic app at the moment, and lot of work to be done in the upcoming days. Lets hope it rolls out well with good features and compete with Twitter and other social media apps.
